It was decided and set into stone that Samantha was coming with me to Stowe. Lee’s acquaintance would also be traveling with us; and I wandered how we would get six passengers in a small VW Rabbit, but then again, we have all seen the commercials, right? But there was one more evening of candor and conversation in Vermont.

It seemed after every run down the slopes as we would return up on the gondolier our conversations between Samantha and I were getting more intense. Could I have possibly found the love of my life in Vermont? I pondered, as she talked almost obsessively. Samantha was undoubtedly a catch. Mother and father would certainly be proud. She had come from and educated and well-to-do family, was beautiful and had brains to match, and was personable, funny, and I now knew; great in the sack.

We stopped for lunch around 3:30 PM and went to the lodge for a lite snack. We would eat early and then stay up late by the campfire. Both Jason and Todd's friends/acquaintances had returned to their respective colleges, so it would only be six for dinner. And if I was lucky, I was going to talk Jason and Todd into staying behind. Reluctantly, they obliged.

The last evening, I ferried everyone; well the four of us, to The Wobbly Barn. This place is absolutely jammin’ this time of year, and perhaps every week, no doubt. A barn at inception, this barn turned restaurant becomes not only a restaurant at nite, but more of a “scene” to be reckoned with. It is considered a Steakhouse and does open and close seasonally, but that is something that the locals are willing to endure, I suppose.

On the night that we were there, they were having their first, “Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey Drink Contest”. Not to be outdone, I ordered some Gentleman Jack prior to my meal; which was probably not a smart move, but I reasoned that I was going to be putting steak and a big helping of mashed potatoes on top to secure its’ position in my guts.

The menu has quite a few offerings of seafood to go along with the “Full-Monte” of steak offerings. I am particularly a fan of the Rib-Eye because of the parts. You get a filet and some additional steak cuts. Samantha and I also decided to split a lobster tail and had some cocktail shrimp as an appetizer. Lee and his better-half spared no expense as well. It was our last nite in Killington, and we were going to do it up right.
